IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR Y6 PUPILS
HERE IS SOME IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR CHILDREN IN YEAR 6 AND THEIR PARENTS !
HOMEWORK : In year 6 the children will be given maths, and spelling (phonic awareness) homework each week-given out by Thursday. The homework will always be due in the following week on Monday. Each child has a book for both the maths and literacy homework to be completed in, although some work may be given on paper. We also expect the children to read at least 4 nights per week and bring their reading record books each Friday from home to show evidence they have read.
PE & GAMES : Year 6 have PE on either a TUESDAY(6W&6P),or FRIDAY (6C). All classes also have outdoor games on a Wednesday afternoon. Please make sure that the correct kit is worn on these days. We do not swim until the Summer Term.
Rewards & Sanctions : In accordance with the school's behaviour policy, the teachers in year 6 will still give 'smiley' rewards for good behaviour and use warnings and the reason room as a sanction for children who are not behaving well or responding in a positive manner. Children who do behave well will be further rewarded with 15 minutes of extra play time on a Friday morning (Golden Time). Children will lose minutes of this golden time both for bad behaviour and for breaking school rules. Minutes will also be lost if children do not attempt homework or forget PE kit.
We have now adopted a further reward STAR SYSTEM for good behaviour in Y6.
